How to Potty Train Your Dog
Every dog owner wishes that its dog could use the toilet just like he does. However puppies and dogs might not be pottery trained in the beginning and cleaning the dirt could get messy and frustrating for you.
In case of puppies you should start to potty train them when they are around 8 weeks old. The training can take a lot of your time and patience but it is surely going to be useful at the end of the day.
The most popular method of potty training is the newspaper method. In this case all you have to do is lay a couple of newspapers in the corner of your house such as the utility room or the bathroom.
Every time your dog does potty somewhere else in the house you take it to the corner where you have put the newspaper by signaling to him in a commanding tone. You can also keep an eye on your dog around the house and when it begins to do potty you immediately direct home to the corner where there are newspapers.
This way your dog will begin to understand that the corner is the designated spot for him to do potty.
Once it learns to the designated corner you can start praising him. Hence it will understand that you are happy with the dog’s changed behavior. The other solution is to take him for walks and let him do potty outside.
However in this case don’t forget to clean the potty with the special shovel as many countries have strict laws about dirtying on the roads. Once you take him out regularly it will finish its potty outside.
Remember that potty training does take some patience and time but the good news is that your dog will eventually learn it. Dogs normally like to do things that make their owners happy and hence when you praise them for doing potty at the right spot they will understand. Some people also direct the dog to the potty corner or spot after noting their everyday time.
This way the dog understands that at a particular time of the day he should go to the particular corner and finish its job. Some breeds learn it fast while some breeds may take more time. However you should remember that in the end you will be much happier to have a trained dog who knows its potty manners.

Steps in Solving Dog Chewing Problems
A puppy or a dog makes for one of the most adorable pets at home. However you have to take care of its health and also see to it that it does not misbehave such as chewing on things such as shoe laces, jumping on the bed, potty anywhere in the house, etc.
Today we take a look at important steps in which you can help your puppy or dog get rid of his chewing problems.
First of all we need to see what are the reasons for which the dog normally chews on. The first reason is its natural instinct to bite and grab things in its way. Dogs like to grab objects and then pretend to destroy it.
The other reason is teething in puppies and hence they like to chew on things to remove the discomfort in the gums. For some dogs, chewing is more of fun and it also gives them a comfort feeling when they are alone or bored.
You can start by giving your dog a dog toy which is specially meant for chewing. Hence whenever the dog chews on something you simply distract its attention by giving him a dog toy. In this exercise you need to be patient with your dog.
The other way to prevent your dog form chewing on household things is to say a firm no with a loud voice. Though it may not listen to you in the beginning it will slowly get used to the habit of your shouting once it starts to chew on something.
Avoid giving your dog something of the house to chew on. These things could be anything from discarded shoes to your bathroom towel. The dog will think that you have given it the freedom to chew on your household items.
In case of dog toys, you can simply say a commanding No to your dog when it chews on household items and then immediately give it the dog toy. Repeat this behavior often and surely your dog will not chew on your important items.
You can even take him to his room which is empty and put dog toys on the floor. He will chew on these dog toys because there is nothing else to chew in the room. However remember that you get non toxic dog toys and toys that don’t pose a risk of getting stuck in the throat.

How to solve your dog’s Health and Attitude Problems
The dog is one of the most favorite pet animals of across the world. However your dog might be giving you a few problems such as eating problems and overall attitude problems. You may get tired and frustrated if your dog shows tantrums in its behavior.
However since you are the owner of your dog you will have to empathize with your dog and then try to solve its problems.
The first step that you can do is to start training your dog to make it behave better. Though many people call a professional dog trainer for the job you may even start to do training on your own. You can simply refer to do it yourself guides that are available in the internet. You can even pick up a hard cover book from a bookshop.
These books have excellent training methods for controlling certain behaviors of your dog such as excessive barking, biting or jumping on strangers, etc. You can also make the dog obey your simple commands such as sit down, stand up, etc. These training manuals will be useful for you as training your dog is not only beneficial for your dog but for yourself as well.
In case you have a puppy at home then you can give it training right from the start. This is because young puppies are normally very enthusiastic and they will chew on shoes, potty on the sofa and even climb up on your bed. Obviously you don’t want the little one to do these things. You can start by giving basic instructions to your puppy or dog.
You can make him understand through gestures as to what he is supposed to do when you give a particular command. For example, if you want to teach your dog to sit on your command then you say sit and then push the dog a little to make it sit.
Repeat the command and then repeat the action often so that eventually the dog will learn to obey your command. Do not confuse the puppy or the dog by teaching him different commands at the same time. Let him learn only one command at a time.
After he learns one command perfectly you can move on to teaching him the next command. Though it is never too late to teach your dog commands that he can follow, the ideal time to start training is between 6 weeks and 8 weeks.
